Moment Mobile II: Eight new smartphone lenses, including a 240 mm super-telephoto lens

Moment is updating its entire line of smartphone lenses. Dubbed Mobile II, this second generation of the T-Series promises more sophisticated optical designs and improved sharpness. Notably, it introduces a 240 mm SuperTele lens, the longest lens the brand has ever designed.

Overview

In 2023, Moment revamped its entire lineup of smartphone lenses with the T-Series, a range designed for the high-resolution sensors found in iPhones and Android phones at the time. Nearly three years later, the manufacturer is introducing Mobile II, a collection of eight lenses, all bearing the “II” designation. But behind this single label lie several new features: a brand-new telephoto lens that fills a real gap, two truly new lenses, and several “older” models optimized for this release.

SuperTele 240 mm: Moment’s first long-range telephoto lens

This is the big new feature of this lineup. The SuperTele 240 mm is billed as Moment’s first true super-telephoto lens and the longest focal length in its lineup. It’s designed specifically for the periscope modules found in recent smartphones: it attaches in front of the smartphone’s telephoto lens—not on the main module—to extend its reach.

Whereas a digital zoom crops and degrades the image, the 240 mm lens uses “cinema-quality” glass to preserve detail at a distance and deliver the rendering characteristic of long focal lengths. This makes it perfect for trying your hand at wildlife, sports, or even distant landscape photography with your iPhone.

In terms of construction, it features an aluminum barrel and is compatible with 67 mm filters (via a dedicated filter holder). One caveat, however: the lens is only compatible with iPhones equipped with a tetraprism telephoto lens—namely, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max. Compatibility with Android smartphones has not yet been confirmed.

Two new wide-angle lenses and optimized optics

Beyond that, several lenses have been completely redesigned, while others have undergone only minor changes. Two lenses are truly new: the Wide 16 mm II, which replaces the 2023 18 mm model with a wider angle of view. There is also the 8 mm II Fisheye: it replaces the previous 14 mm fisheye lens with a much shorter focal length, while still offering creative distortions.

The Tele 58 mm II, meanwhile, retains its focal length—designed for portrait photography—but features 30% more glass (with no further details on the optical formula), resulting in sharper images and better control of vignetting.

The 1.33x and 1.55x II anamorphic lenses use the same optical design, and their only real update is the addition of a third flare style, called “Natural, alongside the Gold and Blue flare effects from 2023 (now renamed Gold42 and PanaBlue). You must choose one of the three flare styles before purchasing.

Finally, there are the 10x Macro and 75 mm II Macro lenses, which Moment had already updated by the end of 2025. The 10x Macro features a new, hand-polished multi-element lens, designed to deliver consistent sharpness all the way to the edges, with a very short minimum focusing distance (approximately 2.5 cm). It comes with a circular diffuser to optimize light rendering.

The 75 mm II Macro lens can focus from 10 to 15 cm away from the subject. Given its long focal length, it’s easier to make the subject stand out and play with depth of field.

A custom frame, and always dedicated lenses

As before, these lenses use the Moment bayonet mount: they attach to the brand’s T-Series bodies, which are sold separately. Note that, for owners of the first-generation T-Series, the Mobile II lenses remain compatible with existing T-Series mounts.

Our First Impressions of the Moment T-Series Mobile II

While computational photography on smartphones keeps getting better, Moment continues to focus on glass—real glass. And that’s precisely where the T-Series Mobile II lenses really shine. Built-in zoom features (whether digital or optical) always end up degrading image quality, smartphone macro modes are limited, and no algorithm can replicate the “real” flare of an anamorphic lens or the compression effect of a long focal length. With the new 240 mm SuperTele, the brand is taking this approach further than ever before.

The rest of the lineup now forms a complete catalog, ranging from fisheye to super-telephoto, including wide-angle, portrait, macro, and anamorphic lenses. All have been recalibrated for modern 2026 sensors. Not everything has been reinvented, and those who already own lenses from the 2023 T-Series can pick and choose rather than replacing their entire collection. But for anyone who wants to take their phone beyond its default lenses and give it a truly creative edge, Moment’s lineup has likely never been more cohesive.
