Tamron x Godzilla: A Monstrous Collaboration at CP+ 2025!

CP+ 2025, Japan’s photography exhibition, will take place in Yokohama from February 27 to March 2, 2025. On this occasion, Tamron has announced a unique collaboration with Godzilla, featuring an immersive booth that combines photography and special effects.

A booth designed like a movie set

This is not the first time Tamron has surprised CP+ visitors with an original booth. Last year, the brand placed two BMW & Mini Racing cars at the heart of its installation. In 2023, Tamron celebrated the Nebuta Festival by exhibiting artworks inspired by student drawings — a tribute to the tradition of Aomori, where one of its factories is located.

This year, Godzilla takes center stage. Tamron will set up several dedicated spaces allowing visitors to explore different aspects of photography through the world of Godzilla.

A spectacular set inspired by the films Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (2002) and Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. (2003) will feature the iconic monsters Godzilla and Mechagodzilla in a diorama specially designed for photography, allowing visitors to test Tamron lenses under unique conditions.

A special effects demonstration zone will allow visitors to experiment with video shooting in an environment recreating a movie set.

Tamron will also offer a dedicated macro photography space featuring its latest lenses, with mini-dioramas inspired by the Godzilla universe.

The screening of a concept movie will showcase a film titled “TAMRON | Godzilla,” displayed on a giant screen, illustrating the cinematic approach of this collaboration.

Finally, exclusive gifts will be available: the first 300 people to register for a Tamron ID on-site will receive a limited-edition “TAMRON | Godzilla” sticker.

According to Tamron, this exhibition is aimed at both photography enthusiasts and Godzilla fans, highlighting the evolution of staging and shooting techniques in monster films.

A “Touch & Try” counter will be available for visitors to test these models.

Ultimately, this collaboration between Tamron and the Godzilla universe marks a unique initiative at CP+, showcasing the interaction between photography and cinema with an impressive movie set-style immersion.
