CP+ 2026: Samyang unveils its AF 60-180mm f/2.8 zoom and brings the 14-24mm to L mount

CP+ 2026 has just opened its doors in Yokohama. To mark the occasion, LK Samyang has lifted the veil a little further on its telephoto zoom lens, designed in partnership with Schneider-Kreuznach. Designed for Sony E and Leica L mounts, the LK Samyang AF 60-180 mm f/2.8 should be available at the beginning of the second half of 2026. Similarly, the AF 14-24 mm f/2.8 zoom will soon be available in L mount.

The third member of Samyang’s “trinity of f/2.8 zoom lenses”

Remember: at the IBC trade show in Amsterdam in September 2025, Samyang surprised everyone by exhibiting several prototypes of lenses for full-frame hybrid cameras. Today, the South Korean lens manufacturer is revealing more details about the AF 60-180 mm f/2.8.

This zoom lens features an unusual focal length range, starting at 60 mm (wider than the usual 70 mm). At full zoom, its 180 mm focal length is reminiscent of Tamron’s strategy with its compact telephoto zooms. This newcomer will complete Samyang’s “f/2.8 zoom trilogy, joining the AF 14-24 mm f/2.8 and AF 24-60 mm f/2.8 already in the catalog.

While the optical formula remains unknown, the ergonomics are becoming clearer. The barrel will incorporate:

  • A USB-C port for updates;
  • An AF/MF switch;
  • A customizable Fn button;
  • A zoom lock latch.

According to the information screen-printed on the barrel, the minimum MAP distance should be quite short: 35 cm at wide angle and 78 cm at full zoom. The filter diameter is 77 mm.

The lens promises a compact size for optimal balance, even on compact bodies such as the Sony A7C II.

In terms of pricing, Samyang remains tight-lipped, but we can expect an aggressive price tag if we consider the €749 asking price for the AF 24-60 mm f/2.8 FE. The lens is expected to be available in early 2026.

The Samyang AF 14-24 mm f/2.8 arrives in L mount

At the same time, LK Samyang has officially announced the arrival of its 14-24 mm f/2.8 AF zoom lens with L mount. This lens, the first fruit of its partnership with Schneider-Kreuznach, was unveiled at CP+ 2025.

Ultra-compact (weighing just 445 g and measuring only 8.8 cm long), this ultra-wide-angle zoom lens is already available in E-mount for €1,199. Its arrival in L-mount should delight users of Lumix S, Sigma fp, and Leica SL cameras.
