CP+ 2026: Everything you need to know about the world’s biggest photo show, in Yokohama (Japan)

Phototrend est sur place pour vous vivre l'événement

From February 26 to March 1, 2026, Yokohama, Japan will be the epicenter of the photo industry with the Camera & Photo Imaging Show 2026 (CP+ 2026 for regulars). Phototrend is on location in Japan to cover the event.

For the sixth consecutive year (excluding the Covid period), we are making the trip to bring you the show experience. In fact, Phototrend has been selected as a Global Partner of CP+ 2026, alongside four other media outlets including PetaPixel and DPReview. A wonderful recognition for the entire team, and a real source of pride for a French-language publication. And if this is happening today, it’s also thanks to you.

An all-time record: 149 exhibitors

CP+ has been running since 2010, but the 2026 edition marks a significant leap in terms of exhibitors. No fewer than 149 companies and organizations are confirmed – the highest number in the show’s history, including 43 first-time exhibitors and 38 international brands.

We’ll also be crossing paths with the French teams from DxO Labs and Cyme. As a reminder, CP+ 2025 already attracted some 56,000 on-site visitors (and 420,000 online viewers). This year, organizers are aiming for an even higher attendance.

The CP+ 2026 floor plan: can you find your way around?

Under the theme “Make Your World Pop”, the show clearly embraces its appeal to both the general public and professionals: hands-on booths, conference sessions, photo exhibitions, workshops, a ZINE market, and even a studio dedicated to plushie photography – a cultural phenomenon on the rise in Japan.

CP+ is no longer just a trade show: it has become a true celebration of photography.

Worth noting: admission is free (prior registration required on the website). A full online program will also be available without registration, with conferences livestreamed.

The first announcements have already dropped

True to tradition, manufacturers didn’t wait for the doors to open to make headlines.

Sigma has already unveiled two new lenses. The first, the Sigma 15mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary, is a fast wide-angle for APS-C sensors, compatible with Sony E, Fujifilm X, and Canon RF-S mounts. The second is a major redesign of an iconic lens: the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG II Art, successor to the model that launched the Art series back in 2012.

Meanwhile, Tamron unveils the 35-100mm f/2.8 Di III VXD, an unconventional zoom that’s both compact and high-performing – and one we’ve had the chance to review.

Sigma also took the opportunity to make a more unexpected announcement: the creation of an agricultural subsidiary in the Aizu region – where its only factory in the world is located. A move that highlights the brand’s deep roots in its home territory.

Nikon, for its part, announced this morning the Nikkor Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S II, the second generation of one of the most popular professional lenses in the Z lineup. The key figure: just 998g, a 26% weight reduction compared to its predecessor, making it the lightest full-frame 70-200mm f/2.8 in its class. You can read our full review here.

What we’re still expecting from other brands

After these initial announcements, we’re still expecting plenty from other manufacturers – though some have already played their hand, like Sony with its Sony A7 V unveiled in late 2025, which will be on display for the first time at CP+. OM System, meanwhile, has revealed the OM-3 Astro, a variant of its vintage-styled mirrorless body designed for astrophotography.

As for Canon, Fujifilm, and Panasonic, it’s still a mystery. No major product announcements have surfaced so far, but CP+ has traditionally been the occasion for Japanese manufacturers to lift the curtain on their latest releases – or at the very least, let visitors get their hands on their newest models. We’re keeping our eyes peeled, and we won’t miss any last-minute announcements.

Fujifilm has already scheduled a post-CP+ event on March 5, focused on X-mount lenses;
