Wandrd Prvke V4: A Refined Take on the Iconic Camera Backpack

Wandrd celebrates its 10th anniversary – with 250,000 Prvke backpacks sold since its creation – by unveiling an update to its iconic backpack, the Prvke V4, along with a new everyday backpack, the Prvke EDC. Both models are currently being crowdfunded on Kickstarter.

Wandrd celebrates 10 years

Founded in 2015 by two brothers, Ryan and Spencer Cope, the American brand of camera bags is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The Wandrd story began with a frustration: not being able to find camera bags that were both stylish and functional.

To mark the occasion, the team is unveiling the fourth version of its iconic backpack, the Prvke V4 (pronounced), and is also launching a brand-new everyday model: the Prvke EDC. Two bags, two purposes, but one shared philosophy: combining modularity, durability, and minimalist design, without compromising functionality.

Prvke V4: an ultra-practical and comfortable camera backpack

To design the Prvke V4, Wandrd says it listened to feedback from its community – 250,000 bags sold over ten years – to rethink its best-selling camera backpack.

Still designed for photographers and travelers, it also adapts to everyday use thanks to its fully customizable interior. An expanded side access for quickly grabbing your camera body, rear access for full gear access, extendable rolltop to carry more equipment, magnetic tote handles, dual laptop and tablet compartments: everything is built for speed and comfort.

The exterior is made from P900D tarpaulin, weather-resistant, with a ballistic Nylon N840D base for abrasion resistance, and the entire bag comes with a lifetime warranty.

In terms of improvements, the shoulder straps have been reinforced and redesigned for better ergonomics, while the back panel remains ventilated to avoid overheating. The zippers are now YCC, ensuring smooth operation and water resistance, and a top zipper has been added for quick access to your gear without unpacking everything.

Inside, the dividers now feature a light color to better spot your gear, and the pockets on the back panel have been redesigned: now featuring a dedicated AirTag pocket, several compartments for pens, cables, and accessories. The Prvke V4 retains its hidden back pocket for securely storing documents, a luggage pass-through, and side pockets for a water bottle or tripod.

The bag comes in four sizes: 15, 21, 31, and 41 L, each with an additional 4 L of capacity thanks to the rolltop.

The 15L version, compact, features a built-in camera insert, color-matched to the bag – a unique option for this size.

Seven colorways are available, including two new ones: Atacama Clay and Rhone Burgundy, which join the classic palette (black, Aegean blue, Wasatch green, Sedona orange, and Yuma Tan beige).

Camera Cube v2

Wandrd is also taking this opportunity to update its Camera Cubes, the camera inserts that allow users to organize the interior of the bag as they see fit.

Inside, they now feature a lighter color for better visibility of your gear, and have been slightly enlarged to optimize available space.

The ProCube now opens completely, allowing direct access to all your equipment. Two sizes are available: Essential and Pro. The Essential version, for example, can carry a mirrorless body with 4 lenses and accessories, leaving room in the bag for personal items.

The Pro version, on the other hand, is designed to carry more gear, as it takes up the entire bag’s interior. Three variations are offered for each size, including a slightly larger Plus version, and a Deep version for deeper gear like full-size DSLRs. The Cubes are also equipped with straps to be worn over the shoulder.

Wandrd Prvke EDC: the everyday backpack

Alongside its camera backpack, Wandrd is also launching the Prvke EDC (for “Everyday Carry”) with a capacity of 18 L, expandable to 22 L. This everyday-use backpack retains the Prvke’s design codes but in a more compact format.

A side access lets you store your laptop, two side pockets accommodate bottles or accessories, and a hidden back pocket keeps your documents safe.

The expandable rolltop offers adjustable volume, while a zipper at the base of the rolltop provides quick access to your belongings, just like the Prvke V4. Inside, you’ll find a tablet pocket, an AirTag slot, and organizers for pens, keys, smartphone, or cables.

Pricing and availability

The Kickstarter campaign has already far exceeded its goal: nearly €260,000 raised so far, with the campaign set to end on July 11, 2025.

The bags are offered at a 25% discount from retail price, available standalone or bundled with Essential or Pro camera inserts. For example, the Prvke 15L is priced at $209 (around €192), while the 21L model is available at $248 (around €216) as a Photo Bundle with an Essential Camera Cube.

Please note, taxes and shipping fees are not included. Delivery is expected in July 2025, with shipping announced within two weeks after the campaign ends.

Our first impressions

In 10 years, Wandrd has established itself as a renowned backpack brand for photographers – and beyond. The Prvke V4 doesn’t reinvent the formula, but refines every detail to meet real-world needs: quick side access, modularity, and durability. Meanwhile, the new Prvke EDC expands the range with a backpack designed for everyday use.

Time will tell if these upgrades live up to their promise in the field, but on paper, the offering is very compelling.
