Sigma BF: firmware update v1.01 improves compatibility with other L-mount lenses

Sigma rolls out the first v1.01 firmware update for its BF full-format hybrid, launched last February. It incorporates several fixes, including greater compatibility with L-mount lenses.

This version enables the Sigma BF to avoid resetting the file counter when formatting internal storage, a useful detail to ensure greater continuity in image archiving.

Another improvement: Sigma has corrected a bug that prevented shooting with certain non-Sigma L-mount lenses , i.e. Panasonic or Leica. A crucial correction for a camera that relies on the openness of the L-mount to appeal to a wide audience.

Other minor adjustments reinforce the overall stability of the system, promising a smoother experience.

The update is available today on the Sigma website. As the device has neither Wi-Fi nor a mobile app, installation must be carried out via a computer: connect the box via USB-C, activate USB mode to access internal storage, then copy the .bin file to the root.
