CP+ 2025: Viltrox Camera Battery Charging Case, a practical and unexpected portable double charger

At CP+ 2025, Viltrox unveils a portable double charger for camera batteries. Reminiscent of a (large) AirPod case, it also doubles as a powerbank. Thanks to its internal battery, it can recharge 2 batteries on the move. Perfect for photographers and videographers in the field!

Viltrox is in (very) fine form at CP+, with no fewer than 4 now fixed focal lens announced. At the Yokohama show, the manufacturer unveils its “ Camera Battery Charging Case Power Bank”.

Compact and lightweight (320 g), the accessory features 2 slots for camera batteries. These can be recharged – without the need for an AC adapter – thanks to the 5500 mAh internal battery. A small LCD display lets you check battery status.

In detail, the box is available in 4 versions, which accept the following batteries:

  • Nikon EN-EL15
  • Fujifilm NP-W235
  • Canon LP-E6
  • Sony NP-FZ100

Thanks to the USB-C port on the side, the battery can also be used to recharge a camera body, smartphone, tablet and so on. What’s more, the accessory is compatible with virtually all rapid charging protocols on the market (Power Delivery, QuickCharge, Apple 2.4A…). The internal battery takes around 1 h 20 to fully charge.

Our first opinion

Clearly, this fast-charging box is one of those good ideas… that we wish we’d had ourselves. Although 2-slot chargers already existed long before (like the Hähnel Pro Cube, for example), they still have a long way to go. However, the solution proposed here by Viltrox seems to be the 1st to act as a powerbank, enabling batteries to be recharged on the move.

If this accessory lives up to its promise, there’s no doubt it will quickly win over photographers and videographers on the move.
